Viñedos de Páganos
El Puntido is an old word meaning 'the foot of the staircase', the shape that this land forms between the Cantabria mountains and the depression of the River Ebro. Viñedos de Páganos are single-vineyard wines that express the unique terroir on which the vineyards are planted.
The Eguren family has been producing these wines since 2001 and has consistently achieved top results. Viñedos de Páganos was founded to express the elegant, mineral expression of El Puntido and La Nieta vineyards, two phenomenal vineyards located in the ancient medieval town of Páganos.
El Puntido and Calados Del Puntido are produced from the El Puntido vineyard. Calados Del Puntido is a premium wine from the higher yielding part of the vineyard. The Eguren family considers that El Puntido is a paradigm of the mineral expression of Tempranillo, which is emphasised by the high proportion of chalk present in the area.
