il palagio

Il Palagio is a 350-hectare Tuscan estate owned by the legendary musician Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. A large part of the land
is made up of forest, where there are several beautiful lakes. The property also has a 2-hectare garden and several beehives.
The land on the property has always been cultivated, since the 16th century. When Sting and Trudie initially came across the property in 1999, it was all falling into disrepair, so they set about lovingly restoring it, bringing the house, outbuildings and grounds back to their former glory.

To make the most of the estate's natural assets, Sting has assembled a dream team:
-consultant Alan York manages the vineyard and runs the entire estate according to biodynamic principles
-Paolo Caciorgna oversees wine production
-Paolo Rossi is the estate manager, looking after the land and plants

Il Palagio has been producing its own wines since the mid-16th century. Sting and Trudie wanted to keep the tradition alive and replanted 11 hectares of vineyards using biodynamic farming methods. The result is excellent Tuscan red wines. The grape varieties are classic Tuscan: red Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino, as well as the internationally renowned Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wines are aged in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels.
