This Bordeaux Rouge Superieur "Sainte Radegonde" consists of a blend where, in addition to 80 % of Merlot, there is a smaller proportion of 20 % of Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are located near Sainte-Radegonde, on clay and limestone soils with a south and south-westerly aspect.
The scent is fresh, aromatic and offers a fine complexity. It reveals notes of blackcurrant and blackberry combined with a slight hint of vanilla, liquorice, as well as wild strawberry and subtle notes of sweet spices e.g. mild tobacco. The palate is fruity, mineral, well balanced and offers dynamism and good freshness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy red berries and slightly juicier blackcurrants with hints of cherry, mild tobacco. The tannins are mild. This wine has a nice length of flavour.
