The wine is deep ruby red in colour with a dense texture.
The aromas are intense, luxurious. There is black cherry, wild strawberry, ripe plum, but also a good dose of vanilla, tobacco, leather and forest undergrowth.
A wine with an intense flavour and a soft texture. At the same time, it offers a good measure of acidity and velvety tannins. A full-bodied wine with an elegant, long-lasting flavour that captivates and seduces.
Grape varieties: tempranillo, graciano, garnacha
The El Rincon vineyard was planted in the south of Briones in 2001, mainly with tempranillo vines, but with a few graciana and garnacha vines.
The hand-harvested grapes were collected in small crates. The best bunches were then hand-selected and fermented in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Bodega Miguel Merino puts elegance before the power and temperament that characterise the wines of this picturesque region.
The wine was then aged for 12 months in oak barrels of a different use, which had previously been used for their Riserva wine. The barrel staves are made of American wood and the barrel heads are made of French wood. After six weeks, the barrels were topped up to minimise oxidation of the wine. After bottling, the wine underwent a further 12 months of cellaring.
