Lime-laporate soils on sandstone pebble conglomerate and limestone. A very steep, south-easterly position which gives the wines early ripeness and full body. The grapes from this position are usually over-ripe and often affected by botrytis, a noble rot.
The wine has a golden yellow colour and a dense texture.

The appellations adjacent to the Grand Cru vineyards also produce wines with a strong character.
