Gordia

The Gordia wines were created by a twist of fate in the village of Kolobman above Ankaran, where winemaker Andrej Cep cultivates about 4 hectares of organically certified vineyards.

After an unsuccessful economics degree, Andrej returned to the local inn and took care of the cooking. As a curious and enthusiastic youngster, his path took him to a sommelier course, where he was first introduced to organically produced and macerated wines. He became so fascinated by this world that he and his father decided to set up a vineyard on a nearby bank.

Andrej now produces all his wines in harmony with nature, the wines are spontaneously fermented and the vineyards are certified organic.

In 2021, the Owl Lodge was renovated and now offers accommodation for guests. Guests can enjoy the terrace, which offers a beautiful view of Koper Bay.

The name Gordia comes from the old local name for the village of Kolomban.
